K-3 AIRE-ZONE Digital True Low Air Loss System comes with an auto-sensing, multi-use control unit. It is a micro-controller with RTPM sensor technology that has built-in, easy-to-use software. This software permits changes to pressure, time, and function. The control panel on the face of the control unit is designed with dome keys and 4x20 digital, LCD display. The panel displays current mode, times, weight and height, comfort pressure, and other functions. There is also a Max Flow mode that inflates the mattress within 15-20 seconds. There Fowler sensor detects a patient's fowler position without being set to do so. It inflates the mattress to 80% higher than the set pressure to eliminate patient bottoming. Either static or pulsating therapy is simultaneously provided with continuous low air loss relief. A built-in lock out key prevents a patient from tampering with settings and power switch. The control unit is quiet, compact, and lightweight, which makes it a practical addition to any hospital bed for patient comfort.
K-3 AIRE-ZONE Digital True Low Air Loss System's mattresses are designed with a Smart Support Surface (tm). This surface is constructed with high-quality, urethane-coated nylon air cushions. These cushions are arranged 16/20 cells per mattress for optimal comfort and effective pulse therapy. The top sheet is made with low-friction and low-shear force for ensured comfort and additional comfort. A rugged connector is built-in for quick detachment to aid with emergency CPR procedures. All components, such as manifold, tubing assembly, air cushions, top sheet, and base are interchangeable and can be easily cleaned.
To use the Overlay Mattress System, make sure the overlay is put on top of a 3 - 5 inch, foam mattress. Once the overlay is in place, locate all straps and connect them in the correct areas. To use a replacement mattress system, unroll it and put it on a bedframe. Secure the straps and tuck the exposed ones under the mattress. Once the overlay or replacement mattress has been set up, plug the cord into the socket and connect it to the control unit.
If a CPR procedure must be performed, remove hose from the control unit. For the side bolster system, be sure to separately deflate those as well with the separate deflate plug. There is also the option to disconnect select air cushions under the chest area during an emergency procedure.
Instead of removing a patient from a K-3 AIRE-ZONE Digital True Low Air Loss System mattress for transportation, simply disconnect the power cord after turning off the control unit. The mattress will deflate, but the bolster will remain inflated if it is in place. Then, the patient can be safely moved to another area without switching beds.
If a system needs to be placed in storage or transported, the mattress system rolls up and can be carried with either two handles or shoulder straps. The control unit should be powered off and unplugged from the wall. Make sure to store both the mattress system and control unit in plastic bags to keep them dust and debris-free.
There are seven options available. These options include cell overlay, 10 or 8 inch mattress, side-bolstered, and bariatric systems.
