The Discovery Series DCP 12 Pediatric Trike accommodates children of all types, providing comfort, support, and easy control to allow children with limited mobility to enjoy cycling. From those with simple balance problems to more involved cases of cerebral palsy, spina bifida, down syndrome, head injury, muscular dystrophy, autism and little people, the Discovery DCP-12 offers therapeutic benefits coupled with fun.
With quick release mechanisms, this trike adapts easily from one rider to another, making it the choice of many therapists, schools, and care facilities. It offers a strong, stable frame with multiple points of adjustment to easily provide optimal support and comfort, adapting to each childs unique needs. It ensures proper hip to foot positioning and natural hip positioning, while encouraging an improved range of motion and the development of balance and self-support. With this series children can be children no matter what environment they are in, even during a physical therapy session.
Discovery is designed to provide excellent stability and fits through standard door openings, allowing it to be used just as easily indoors as out. It includes an optional rear steering system that allows the caregiver to steer, or brake from the rear of the mobility device for versatile maneuvering options. Once the rider becomes more comfortable with reciprocal movement, an adjustment can be made allowing the rider to control, or assist with the navigation of the bike.
