The North Coast Medical Preferred® Dorsal Blocking Splint is for use after flexor tendon repair surgery. The NCM Preferred® keeps the hand, fingers, and wrist in the correct position to optimize healing. It includes a separate palmar bar which provides palmar arch support and prevents the splint from moving down on the hand. This bar can be trimmed if it is unneeded.
To size, measure circumference of your hand at the knuckles (MP joint). See chart under sizing tab. Insctructions for splinting are included with the splint.
Precut Splints Sizing Guidelines: To choose the most appropriate size, measure the circumference of the hand at the MP joints. Sizes overlap and are intended to allow you to choose the size that best matches your client's measurements. If a client falls within two ranges, choose the larger size to ensure that there is sufficient material for a proper fit.
