More Information

The Anti-Spasticity Ball Splint is a hand splint designed to maintain the hand and fingers in a reflex-inhibiting position. The preformed, low-temperature, thermoplastic Polyform splinting material is formed to stabilize and position the wrist, abduct the fingers and thumb, and also maintain the palmar arch in a comfortable, reflex-inhibiting position.

The included strapping system provides a secure fit, comfort, and support for the fingers and thumb as well as providing two padded, self-adhesive D-ring straps to securely fit around the user's forearm for added support and security.

The patient's hand will be placed in the small, medium, or large-sized preformed splint which can be heated at low temperatures to allow the splint to be molded to the patient's hand for a perfect, customized fit. The splint is to help prevent the damage of shortening of the tendons, and deformity with mild to moderate hypertonicity.

It is often used to protect and support spasticity behavior due to traumatic brain injury and CVA, as well as Parkinson's disease.
