Advantage Line Bolster Swing

The Advantage Line Bolster Swing helps clients with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) to have better trunk control and bilateral coordination. By stimulating the vestibular system with both linear and rotational movement (with the added rotational device), clients are better able to focus and relax. This self-regulation is particularly helpful for those who may have meltdowns when under or over stimulated from sensory input.

When using the Advantage Line Bolster Swing, therapists can stand to the side and have the child reach for toys or other items using both sides of their body. This reaching activity helps improve reaction times and sequencing abilities. Children can reach over the midline to help improve bilateral coordination.

Space Requirements:
In order to properly accommodate the Advantage Line Bolster Swing, ceilings should be 8 ft. or higher. Walls and other obstacles should be at a distance of at least 6 ft. from the swing.

Other Devices Needed:
For convenient and quick height adjustments, a Southpaw Height Adjuster with Safety Snap is recommended. This mechanism allows the therapy swing height to be adjusted by simply sliding it up and down a rope and locking in place with safety locking pins. For rotational motion, a Southpaw Safety Rotational Device can be used. Both of these therapy swing accessories are sold separately below.
