What are Pediatric Tumble Forms and the Carrie Seating System?

Pediatric Tumble Forms for the Carrie Seating System may only be used on forward facing seats in vehicles equipped with a properly installed tether strap, and with a lap/shoulder belt or a standard lap belt with a locking clip.

Tumble forms have an anti-microbial protection which works from within to help inhibit or prevent odors. This protection also aids in the prevention of premature coating wear caused by harmful microorganism growth. The covering establishes an added degree of protection to help maintain safer, cleaner surfaces by not washing or wearing off.

By combining superior craftsmanship with innovative design, tumble forms are made especially for children with special needs. They offer maximum comfort and positive reinforcement and are made for durability and versatility. Pediatric tumble forms give a therapist the ability to creatively position a child in a variety of ways, and can be used at home, at school, during transit, or in clinical settings.

Pediatric tumble forms have an adjustable footrest with three adjustable components, which are the footrest bar, the support tube, and the individual footrest shoes. The support tube can be adjusted up and down the footrest bar by loosening the knob between the footrest shoes. This adjustment can be utilized to help in controlling hip extension or flexion, and will maintain its position when the knob is tightened securely. The footrest shoes can be tilted individually for ankle plantarflexion or dorsiflexion. The child’s foot is secured inside the footrest with webbing straps and Velcro.

The tumble form head support can be adjusted up or down on the Velcro pad at the top of the seat. The head support holds the head and neck in the midline without putting pressure on the occipital region. Additionally, an adjustable tray is available for use with activities, eating, or playing.

Tumble forms can be cleaned with industrial grade or household detergents in liquid or abrasive powder forms. The covering can also be disinfected with 3% hydrogen peroxide or alcohol. The harness strap can be hand washed with warm soapy water and disinfected with 3% hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, and scrubbed clean with a nylon brush.

The Carrie stroller base can be used with the seat system to make an easy rolling stroller with large rear wheels for a smooth ride, and front swivel casters for easy maneuvering. The stroller base can also be folded for easy storage and transporting purposes. The Carrie activity base can be used to raise the height of the Carrie seat to enable a child to engage in activities and to interact with peers more effectively. It raises the Carrie seat 14 1/2 inches from the floor. Pediatric tumble forms for the Carrie seating system are crash test approved and meet FMVSS 213 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) child restraint safety systems requirements .
