More Information

Two-point discrimination devices are used to gauge whether a patient is able to recognize the distinction between two points of contact occurring on the skin. The points vary in distances to ensure that recognition of the point distances are not recognized and results are truly accurate, as well as to determine how far the nerve damage has traveled. Using a discrimination device reveals damaged nerve pathways or peripheral nerves.

The Touch-Test 2-Point Discriminator is constructed of a sturdy plastic that minimizes the amount of influence temperature has on the perception of contact that is felt by the patient. The compact instrument provides several discrimination distances in one readily available tool without having to make adjustments between tests. This allows the tester to quickly transition between tests which in turn helps to gain accurate insight on result accuracy. The protective case keeps the contact tips safe during transportation and storage.
