More Information

The TheraTouch DX2 Shortwave Diathermy Unit comes equipped with recent improvements in safety, convenience, and efficiency to become one of the most effective diathermy machines on the market. The unit is controlled by a touch-screen interface that is very easy to use and navigate. Software upgrades can easily be installed via the USB port. There are two treatment indicators, one on the unit and the other on the monode drum. Having two indicators ensures that treatment is being properly applied and the connection between the unit and drum are functioning. Included is an Anatomical Treatment Guide that suggests proper placement of the monode to provide the most effective and consistent treatment. The DX2 uses a Scientific Dosage Control (SDC) that provides additional dosimetry options within patient comfort tolerances. There are now six possible Qualitative Thermal Dosimetry settings that can be used to treat your patients:
  • Dose I: Subthermal
  • Dose II: Mild Heat
  • Dose III: Low Heat
  • Dose III SDC M: Moderate Heat
  • Dose III SDC H: High Heat
  • Dose IV: Vigorous Heat
The SDC ends up allowing the thermal effect to be increased without increasing the risk to the patient. Some patients find Dose IV to be too much discomfort due to lost muscle mass and/or how thin the skin is, which is common in geriatric patients. This makes the Moderate and High settings of Dose III much more useful when looking to best meet the needs of these patients. The DX2 also features High-Efficiency Auto-Tuning (H.E.A.T.) that continuously measures and adjusts to changes detected in the patients impedance in order to provide the maximum and most efficient energy transmission, ultimately leading to faster heating and shorter treatment times. An exclusive parameter found in the Quick Link library, the Microcirculation Indication uses information gathered from studies of subthermal pulsed shortwave diathermy to enhance tissue healing. There are 8 other evidence-based Quick Links by Indication programmed into the machine for your convenience. You can save up to 99 other user-defined favorites if needed. The Mechanical Arm that attaches to the Monode Drum is flexible and reliable thanks to its five articulation points. These points allow the arm to be positioned perfectly to treat multiple areas on the body. Once placed into the desired position, the arm resists unwanted migration of the arm and drum to ensure proper treatment. The DX2 is covered under a 3-year warranty.
