What are Whirlpool Tables and Chairs?

Specifically created for the purpose of usage with professional whirlpool and hydrotherapy tanks, whirlpool tables fit around the back and sides of the tank, and whirlpool chairs fit closely to the end of the tank. The tables provide more comfortable seating for the patient, while the chairs allow practitioners improved accessibility to the patient. Both tables and chairs are available in a variety of sizes and styles to fit different sized tanks, and to suit the unique needs of the individual patients and practitioners.

Water-resistant and easy to clean, whirlpool tables and chairs can be used for both stationary and mobile whirlpool and hydrotherapy tanks. They are built to withstand high moisture environments, with surfaces that have been specially coated and waterproofed for long-lasting durability and easy maintenance.

What are the Benefits of Whirlpool Tables?

Widely used for a vast array of medical and therapy applications, professional whirlpool tanks come in a wide selection of sizes for varied purposes. Some may be smaller to treat either upper or lower extremities, while others may be large enough to submerge the entire body. They are usually constructed of metal, and have a deep oval appearance.

Whirlpool tables are made to fit snugly around the back and sides of these tanks to increase their dimension, and enhance comfort for the user or patient. They may include storage areas and/or shelving units on the back of the table. Some tables offer spaces for more than one tank, which are perfect for athletic training rooms and other applications that treat more than one person at a time. They usually offer waterproofed padding on the half circle-contoured area, and the two platform tops on either side.

Because they are used with and around water, these tables offer moisture-resistance in several different ways, including high-pressure lamination, ABS plastics, and other specialized coatings. Bumper tee-molded edges help to protect against injuries, and the combo-seat models offer reinforcement around each contoured area. Some designs include adjustable-height foot glides, and triple-bolted legs with leveling glides. Most models can accommodate up to 350 pounds of load weight safely under normal usage.

What are the Benefits of Whirlpool Chairs?

Because they are specifically designed to fit snugly into the end of whirlpool tanks, whirlpool chairs enable therapists to more comfortably and ergonomically treat their patients’ lower extremities during hydrotherapy sessions. They are available in several sizes and styles, and are also usually adjustable in height to better fulfill the individual needs of each practitioner and patient.

Most whirlpool chairs offer the ability to fit over the rim of the whirlpool, where they can be locked in place. This helps to prevent slippage, as do lockable caster wheels or stationary, non-slip rubberized tips. They allow closer accessibility for the practitioner to attend to the patient, without straining or incurring back pain. Seats also swivel for easier access, and come with padded backs for comfort and posture.

Like the whirlpool tables, whirlpool chairs are also specially constructed and treated to withstand their constant contact with water. Chrome-plated steel frames and padded, vinyl upholstery help to repel moisture and maintain this durable equipment. Several models offer safety belts to add security for the practitioner, while others also provide foot rests for added balance.

Rehabmart is proud to offer superior quality whirlpool tables and chairs from leading vendors in the field, including Clinton Industries, Bailey Manufacturing Company, and TherAdapt.
