Maximum Adjustability
The ROHO Contour Select Wheelchair Cushion can be adjusted in order to contour to each wheelchair user's unique shape, weight, and position. To adjust, the wheelchair cushion should first be over-inflated with the included hand pump so that it is arching up. The wheelchair user can then sit on the cushion in order to make adjustments. Air can be let out until there is about a half-inch of space between the cushion and the wheelchair user's sit bones. If bottoming out occurs, the cushion can be inflated more. Throughout the day, inflation levels can be checked and adjusted to accommodate changing positions over time, ensuring ideal immersion.
Lightweight
Because this cushion is filled with air rather than high-density foam or gel, it weighs just 3 lbs. This lightweight feature makes carrying the cushion easy and doesn't weigh the mobility device down.
Isoflo Memory Control
ROHO's Contour Select Wheelchair Cushion includes Isoflo Memory Control, which disperses air to each of the 4 cushion quadrants. The cushion's memory control feature, located at the front and center of the cushion, allows for all 4 cells to communicate and distributes the air where needed. This allows for the perfect amount of pressure-relieving immersion to be achieved. With greater immersion, the pressure is redistributed to a greater contact area and blood flow is increased to at-risk areas.
Positions to Accommodate Pelvic Deformity
Caregivers can adjust the Contour Select Wheelchair Cushion to accommodate pelvic deformities. To do this, the caregiver would manually adjust the client's pelvis into the desired position. If they have a flexible left pelvic obliquity, meaning the left side of the pelvis is lower than the right side, the caregiver will have the patient lean towards the right. Or, pressure can be placed on the hip to position to achieve the desired position. Once the positioning is achieved, the Isoflo valve can be locked into place to save the cushion setting.
Corrects Posterior Pelvic Tilt
To correct posterior pelvic tilt, a well can be created that stops the pelvis from sliding forward. To do this, the caregiver can lift both of the client's knees, placing more pressure on the pelvis and forcing more air towards the front of the cushion.
Easy to Clean
Foam wheelchair cushions are more difficult to keep clean compared to air wheelchair cushions, especially if fluids reach the inner foam core. Since this cushion is only filled with air, it can be cleaned with soap and water. And the cover can be washed in a washing machine.
Repairable
To extend the flame-resistant and latex-free air cushion's use, if a puncture occurs in the black neoprene support pad, it can be patched.
