The MonoMouse is a unique, innovative solution for individuals who struggle with vision impairments like low visibility, near- or far-sightedness, or dyslexia. Its name is derived from a computer mouse, as it is similar in shape and size and is held and operated in a similar manner. Like a small scanner, the MonoMouse enlarges text and images on everything from newspapers to soda cans, and then displays it on your computer monitor or television. The magnification level can be adjusted so the text can be as large as needed for optimal visibility
The ergonomically-shaped mouse fits easily in the hand and slides smoothly across pages for uninterrupted reading. Extremely simple to operate, the MonoMouse has one large, clearly-defined blue button in the center to turn it on and off, and another button where the thumb sits to easily switch between modes. The MonoMouse for televisions need only be plugged in before you can start magnifying anything you like; the MonoMouse for computers includes simple, compact software for either Mac or Windows that must first be installed.
The MonoMouse for television has two different models to choose from. The standard model shows everything beneath the mouse in greyscale, with varying shades corresponding to different colors of the original image. The RM model has the standard greyscale mode, and also features two reverse modes that allow you to convert text into pure black words on a pure white background (positive mode), or to pure white words on a pure black background (negative mode); both these modes increase the contrast of word and background to enhance visibility. The MonoMouse for computers comes only in the RM model, which features the standard greyscale mode and both reverse modes.
