Jensen Swing Replacement Hardware for Residential Use

H100 Pelican Hook 1/4" x 2"

This ¼" x 2" pelican hook can be used to fasten rope or chain to nylon bushing. Galvanized to help resist rust.

Installation: Make sure the S-hooks are closed to within .04 to meet ASTM standards. To do this you will need to use our S-hook Pliers or a regular pair of pliers to squeeze them together. Remember that once the S-hooks have been opened they will have to be replaced to avoid injuries from them coming open and/or breaking.

Do monthly routine maintenance checks for rust, cracks, sharp edges, wear, cuts and that they are closed completely to reduce unnecessary injuries. In high use areas, these inspections should be done more frequently.

H120 Closed S-Hook 1/4" x 2"

Primarily used to adjust rope lengths. Galvanized to resist rust.

H160 - 5/16" x 3" Spring Loaded Connector Clip - Residential

These clips are 5/16" x 3" with a standard opening.

Installation: Just clip to allow easy attachment to chains and swing hangers without pliers. These should be used where there is not a chance for children to press spring and catch their fingers or unhook the seat, chain etc as this will cause serious injury.

T100 - S-Hook Plier and Chain Cutter 34" Long - Commerical

Use to cut chain and to open and close S-hooks.

Installation: Spread plier's legs apart and put chain at the back of the large set of jaws. Put leg with the flag end on the ground. Place your foot on the flat end for leverage and press plier's legs together until the chain is cut. Pliers cut chain that is 5/16" in diameter.

To close S-hooks: Put the S-hook in the front part of the large jaws and close the pliers' legs and the S-hook will close.

To open S-hooks: Use the little jaws at the other end of the pliers' head. Put the top or outer jaw inside of the closed S-hook. Close the pliers' legs and the S-hook should open.

H140 Large End 5/16" x 4" S-Hook Commercial This is a large end 5/16" x 4" S-hook.  Our commercial quality large end S-hooks are designed to fasten chain to swing hangers and swing seats to help prevent binding. They are plated to help resist rust. S-hooks that are not bought from a playground manufacturer do not have the quality control and have been known to break with the first “swinger”.  This product should last 2 years in harsh conditions and up to 5 years in optimal conditions. Some conditions may require replacement sooner. Tensile strength is 750 lbs.

H145 Standard 5/16" x 3" S-Hook Commercial  This is a standard 5/16" x 3" S-hook.  Our commercial quality S-hooks are designed to fasten chain to swing hangers and swing seats to help prevent binding. They are plated to resist rust. S-hooks that are not bought from a playground manufacturer do not have the quality control and have been known to break with the first “swinger”.  This product should last 2 years in harsh conditions and up to 5 years in optimal conditions. Some conditions may require replacement sooner.

These shackles take the place of S-hooks. Unlike S-hooks they can be used multiple times. They are also much easier to install then S-hooks. They are stronger and some cities and parks are requiring their use instead of S-hooks. This shackle is 5/16” with 3/8” x 1 ½” bolt.   There is a ½” opening at the bolt and at the widest it is 1”. This will accept up to a ½” chain. This shackle works with our swing hangers and chain except the C125 green, C126, C127 red and the C128. The shackle is 212 HBS and the bolt is 176 HBS.    This product should last 2 years in harsh conditions and up to 5 years in optimal conditions. Some conditions may require replacement sooner. Tensile strength is 1900 lbs.

These shackles take the place of S-hooks. These are used when a wide opening is needed. Unlike S-hooks they can be used multiple times. They are also much easier to install then S-hooks. They are stronger and some cities and parks are requiring their use instead of S-hooks. Use with our swing hangers, Tire Swing and chain except the C125 green, C126, C127 red abd the C128.  The shorter bolt is 3/8” ID and the longer bolt is 1.25” ID. The smaller opening is ½” and the wider opening is 1”. This head makes removal because of vandalism more difficult. The shackle is 212 HBS and the bolt is 176 HBS.  The hardness of the bolt in the H172 is: long needle hardness HRC29 / short needle hardness HRC31.  This product should last 2 years in harsh conditions and up to 5 years in optimal conditions. Some conditions may require replacement sooner.  Tensile strength is 2100 lbs.
