More Information

The Graded Arc for Range of Motion Therapy device is excellent for an occupational therapy or physical therapy treatment of upper extremity deficits impairing the client's range of motion.

The graded arc helps to strengthen and enhance the ligaments, muscles, tendons, and joints around the client's shoulder or elbow. Some factors that might contribute to a decrease in upper extremity range of motion include arthritis, osteoarthritis, an injury, recovering from surgery, body temperature, low activity levels, genetics, and age.

The grand arc is an active range of motion exercise that can be performed solely by the client with possible physical cues from a therapist. The client will glide one of the 12 rings up and along the curved plastic tube, moving their arm from the lower base area of the arc to the highest top point, than back down to the other side of the arc. The client can start with the smallest arc height of tubing to work with at 15 inches. As the client progresses with range of motion, the tube can be adjusted to a more difficult height with the 5-inch extension pieces, allowing the arc to reach the 30-inch height.

The sturdy, natural wood base will keep the graded arc steady and will not slide or move during the exercise. The light weight and portability of this device makes it an ideal therapy tool for PTs or OTs to use in their office, or to bring on a home visit to a client.
