The Geo-Mattress UltraMax is made from high density medical grade foam, the exclusive two inch high Geo-Matt style topper has a unique geometric design consisting of over 800 individual cells, each of which acts individually to redistribute pressure, reduce heat and moisture buildup on the skin, and reduce shear to underlying tissues.

Segmented viscoelastic foam cradles the heel. The gentle Heel Slope(tm) redistributes pressure to the more pressure-tolerant lower legs, providing enhanced skin integrity and comfort.

The bi-directional stretch cover:
- anti-microbial, flame-resistant, fluid-impervious, tear-resistant and replaceable
- easily wipes clean and exclusive bottom design reduces sliding and "gatching noise"½

Shear Transfer Zones:
- creates shear-minimizing bands beneath heels, sacrum and scapula

Geo-Mattress® UltraMax Recessed Deck Model
The introduction of recessed deck versions of selected Span surfaces, including the Geo-Mattress® UltraMax(tm), brings our advanced technology to recessed deck beds.

Our engineers have developed a version of the Geo-Mattress® UltraMax surface to accommodate the unique design requirements of recessed deck beds. V-shaped edges enable the mattress to fit the recessed deck bedframe, while the compressible section accommodates multiple lengths and foot positions.

Patented design creates an inner bolster "cradle" effect for added safety when the patient sits on or moves toward the bed edge. This protective feature helps direct the patient's center of gravity safely back toward the center of the bed. Two sturdy fabric handles improve relocation ergonomics.

Durability and Support: The seat section of a typical support surface is exposed to the highest level of mechanical fatigue due to repeated gatching, compounded by the concentration of patient weight, especially with the head of the bed (HOB) elevated.
