Taction Pads are clear, adhesive-backed plastic switches that are activated by contact with your skin. Simply peel the backing off and stick the Taction Pad on almost any object or surface. Taction Pads are designed to function with Adaptivation-branded products. Taction Pads require a Taction Pad Adaptor to operate with non-Adaptivation devices.
Taction Pads have the ability to turn nearly anything into a switch! By attaching the pad to the surface of a toy or other object, the item can activate the device connected to the Taction Pads when anyone touches the pad. The pads are highly flexible and can be wrapped around curved surfaces as well as flat.
Little pressure is required due to the Taction Pad sensing the moisture of the skin touching it. This allows for the slightest touch activation. Taction pads are sensitive to moisture in the hands or fingers of the operator. If the skin is dry, the touch-sensitive device may not sense that someone is touching the Taction Pad. This can be remedied by applying hand lotion to moisten the skin.
Normally, the back of the hand or the forearm is too dry to activate a message. This should be taken into consideration for users who cannot touch the Taction Pad with their fingers or some part of the palm of their hand. To use the Taction Pad, you must directly touch its top surface. If you cover the Taction Pad, it will not be able to sense your touch. The video below demonstrates common applications for the Taction Pad. Because Taction Pad adhesive is strong and will bond easily, we are not able to take returns on any pad that backing has been removed from.
The LinkSwitch or new Taction Pad Adaptor is required if using any device in conjunction with the Taction Pads other than these listed below. Now you can use Taction Pad switches for any device with a standard jack. Simply plug the Taction Pad into the Taction Pad Adaptor, then connect the Taction Pad Adaptor to your device.
