The Excilon Drain and IV Sponges are sterile medical draining sponges made from a thick 6-play nonwoven material that helps absorb liquid from various devices in medical environments. With a pre-cut T-slit in the center of the sponges, these nonwoven sponges dont require sterile scissors to be split and used to wrap around various devices. The highly absorbent 6-ply material helps the sponges last for long periods before needing to be replaced.
The pre-cut T-slit measures to about the halfway point of the nonwoven sponges, allowing them to fit comfortably around various devices such as drains, catheters, chest tubes, IVs, and tracheotomies, as well as various other liquid-transferring devices. The nonwoven sponges slide onto the tubes or pipes of the devices through the pre-cut slit that comes on the sponge, the sponge can then be wrapped around the device so that it rests where the liquid passes through, making it easy for it to absorb anything that leaks out.
These sponges are made to be sterile and sanitary so that they can be used in medical environments without the risk of cross-contamination or infection being caused by them. The sponges also fit comfortably around drains which can help with absorbing any excess liquid that could otherwise sit at the edge of a drain and run the risk of remaining stagnant and causing mold or mildew which would cause further health risks.
