Encore Hospital Resident Care Beds keep the user within safe reach of all access-points for better fall prevention. Patients are kept in alignment, thereby not needing frequent turning or repositioning by the staff. When the bed is elevated, the unique design glides the user back to their original position to protect sacrum, heels and elbows from skin shear caused by friction with bed sheets. Choose from two series of headboard and footboard profiles with many color options.
With the ReadyWide Integrated "two click" Expansion feature, the bed expands to 39 inches wide on the first click, 42 inches on the second. This allows the bed to also narrow again for navigation of narrow doorways in facilities. Deck lengths are 76 or 80 inches standard, 84 inches optional.
The wider surface when expanded offers safer and easier transfers. The Encore can accommodate users up to 600 pounds when needed. Safety is also improved by Intelligent Smart Stop features for improving low-bed ergonomics. This feature prevents falls by prohibiting the user from leaving the bed from a level that is too low. Flashing indicators indicate when the bed is in the "low height zone", which is only possible by using the foot-end control by the caregiver. Underbed lights illuminate below the Smart Stop level, and are controllable by hand pendant or foot end control.
Navigates narrow doorways Expanders provide fast, hassle-free solution for in-facility bed mobility

Smart Stop prevents falls by prohibiting the user from trying to egress from a dangerously too-low level. Lowering down into low height zone is only possible using the FEC. Flashing indicators display as bed goes into low height zone. Under-bed indicators can also be switched over to discreet nighttime floor level illumination.
Ergonomic 3-position assist device locks at right angle to the bed for sturdy ingress/egress support, protecting both user and caregiver. Both 3-position and half-length assist device made of molded, pleasing-to-touch materials.
