The Comfyprene Hand Wrist Finger Orthosis was created to offer the same support and position for weak or deformed wrists, hands, or fingers as the Comfy Splints' Hand Wrist Orthosis. Excellent for use after sports injuries, removal of casts, or for arthritic patient's support of the weakened extremity.
Like its counterpart, this ambidextrous orthosis was created using a patented malleable frame that allows for a customized fit in a prefabricated splint. The splint is adjustable to the individual patient without the use of heat or tools. This makes it the ideal positioning splint for a graduated extension of the fingers and wrist. It also corrects and controls wrist drops and any radial or ulnar deviation while positioning a flaccid hand and wrist. Likewise, it helps restrict changes and deformity related to neuromuscular impairment.
Instead of terry cloth, the Comfyprene splint creates a unique and slim profile for everyday comfort using inserts covered with soft neoprene material. The Comfyprene material helps maintain skin integrity by absorbing moisture, allowing air circulation, and preventing skin maceration. Likewise, it allows for increased hygiene care by allowing nail care and cleaning of palmer surfaces while maintaining a functional position of the wrist and hand.
The inserts are also designed with rounded edges to prevent and minimize self-injury. It also helps that the splint closes with foam-lined velcro straps that do not come into contact with a user's skin. These can be positioned anywhere for an optimized fit and prevent pressure areas from building up.
These only come in dark blue but are easy to maintain by handwashing and air drying.
Instead of removable terrycloth covers, the Comfyprene™ splint inserts are covered with soft neoprene and headliner material, which creates a slim profile for everyday comfort. Splints are adjustable and re-adjustable using the Comfy™ patented reinforced spine. Straps may be positioned anywhere on the splint for optimal fit. Excellent for use after sports injuries, removal of casts, sports medicine or for arthritic patient's support of the weakened extremity.
All Comfyprene™ Splints come standard with five attachable and removable hygiene liners. Unlike the traditional Comfy Splint, there are no removable covers on Comfyprene™ Splints.
