The Comfort Mat can be used in many situations where foam padding is welcome. It can be placed at the pool's edge to ease entry/exit. In the shower, these moisture-proof mats offer a soft floor covering. In the locker room, they insulate against cold tile floors and provide changing comfort. The Comfort Mat makes a great flotation raft too.
The Comfort Mat is designed to accommodate different levels of ability in the water. This Aquatic Therapy device is constructed from Ensolite® Marine Flotation Foam, which doesn't sink or absorb water, even if it is cut or punctured. This type of foam is also designed to hold in body heat so that the patient does not get cold during therapy. The Comfort Mat is triple coated with a durable vinyl finish in bright yellow so that it is highly visible in the water. Rainbow polypropylene webbing and super tough nylon buckles resist chlorine and salt water corrosion. This mat is easily cleaned by hand, using mild detergent. Avoid any harsh chemical cleaners.
Not to be used as a life saving device.
In order to help decide on the type of equipment and the appropriate size for the individual, here are a few basic considerations:
- Amount of spasticity/rigidity exhibited.
- Amount of trunk and head control that the individual exhibits.
- Age, weight and amount of body fat that contributes to natural buoyancy.
- Individual's medical condition, considering the type and severity of the disability.
- Teaching goals which are desired i.e. maximum or minimum flotation for full range of motion in the extremities.
- Versatility of equipment: our swim aids by Danmar are designed for all age groups and may be adapted to changing levels of proficiency.
