COBOLT Talking Kitchen Scale

The Colbot Talking Kitchen Scale from MaxiAids will allow the visually impaired to cook and bake in the kitchen. It separates itself from other digital scales by helping individuals with visual or hearing impairments measure liquid and solid ingredients through audio indicators.

Designed and built to the highest standards possible, the verbal response technology built into the scale is vital to its function. This device allows individuals to measure the weight of liquids and foods through audio cues using metric and imperial measurement systems. Weight increases or decreases are indicated through either a high or low beep. You can weigh up to 11 pounds or 5 kilograms (5000 grams) of ingredients on the scale.

The scale has a simple design making it easy to use. Its appearance is not complicated since it focuses on providing the audio cues to measure the weight. It comes with a large, secure down that holds all the ingredients you use. The scale also comes with anti-slip feet to prevent spills and accurate measurements with a 2 percent margin of error.

Two switches control the measuring system used and the volume setting. On the side, you can simply switch between ounces and grams if you desire. To adjust volume, press and hold the On/Reset button on the front of the scale until you find the correct volume setting.

A 9-volt battery or an AC adapter powers the device, but they must be purchased separately.
