Healing and Hydrocollators
As a part of Chattanooga's flagship product line, the Small E-1 Tabletop Hydrocollator has become a standard if not essential component in the offices of many physical therapists. The heart of the technology lies within the hydrocollator's water-filled chamber, which provides a thermostatically controlled environment for four Standard HotPacs. These HotPacs serve to effectively transfer soothing and penetrating moist heat beneath a patient's skin and into the tissue below, a technique more effective than dry heat therapy as demonstrated in a peer-reviewed research study in the
Journal of Medical Engineering and Technology. When used correctly, this form of hot therapy is excellent for treating muscle spasms, relieving pain, enhancing skin elasticity, and increasing blood flow. The Small E-1 Tabletop Hydrocollator, which is designed for countertops and tabletops, is especially convenient for therapists in smaller offices.
Operation
The Hydrocollator Heating Unit is simple and easy to operate. The controls are located in the rear, near the bottom of the unit. The thermostat controls the temperature of the water. It is located near the bottom of the unit on the control panel. It has been tested and preset at the factory to normal operating temperature. If further adjustment is necessary, it can be easily accomplished by turning the adjusting screw located on the thermostat. Turning the outer screw counterclockwise LOWERS the temperature, while turning it clockwise RAISES it.
