Many people suffer from conditions, injuries, or limitations that cause their finger dexterity, hand strength, and forearm strength to be lacking. Any kind of injury below the elbow can affect the fingers½ ability to move independently of one another and can cause them to be weakened. Those with limited mobility due to a medical condition or developmental disabilities can also suffer from weakness below the elbow.
The Cando Digi-Flex Hand/Finger Exerciser is a simple-but-effective tool for developing these strength and dexterities. The device uses two rows of springs separated by a divider; the top row of springs each attach to individual buttons for each individual finger, so that stronger fingers cannot compensate for nor inhibit weaker fingers. The buttons are ergonomically designed with an indentation for each finger to rest upon. The second row of springs attaches to the divider all together, providing a secondary level of resistance. Users grip the ergonomically-shaped device, place their fingers on the buttons, and can then perform a variety of exercises for general and targeted rehabilitative or developmental activities.
The Digi-Flex is available in eight different resistance levels, measured in pounds. These levels are color-coordinated to make differentiating between them quickly and easily. They can be purchased individually or in sets of five or eight. A plastic and a metal display and storage rack are also available.
