The AmTryke AM-10 Early Intervention Hand and Foot Cycle is designed to use a hand and foot pedaling combination to improve coordination, strength, and range of motion. The combined pedaling motion builds the rider's strength in both the upper and lower body. The seat has a lap belt with a safety t-strap to help the rider maintain balance and correct posture. The seat can be adjusted up or down and forward or back for optimum positioning.
The fixed drive construction prevents the tricycle from coasting and ensures that the cycle only moves forward when pedaling is performed. The fixed drive also ensures that the hands and feet work together to propel the tricycle. The maintenance-free belt drive mechanism ensures that the bike will be recreation ready whenever the child is. The hand crank arms are 3-inches wide to provide a secure grip on the hand pedals. The foot plates with a toe and instep strap and the pedal lever pulley keep the feet secure on the pedals and positioned for optimal riding to prevent injury.
The lower center of gravity of the tricycle helps riders to maintain their balance and prevent the tricycle from tipping over. The safety steering limiter pin has three graduated steering options: straight, 20-degrees left or right, and free steering. This helps riders that are just starting out to not oversteer or lose control of the tricycle.
The AmTryke AM-10 is built for durability, longevity, and ease of use. It has 10-inch front and rear wheels that are constructed of heavy plastic that feature long-lasting solid rubber tires. The rolled steel frame and seat of the tricycle easily dismantles to make transporting and storage much easier.
