Low-impact forces are distributed across the entire headgear surface without cracking or penetrating the protective helmet.

The unique characteristic of this hard, flexible plastic headgear is that it can easily conform to the user's head to provide a more comfortable, adjustable alternative to other protective headgear. The customizable headgear is equipped with a posterior strap that locks the headgear below the occiput and mastoids and accommodates head size variations. The included lateral straps are designed to provide easy and safe application and removal of the headgear. Included for enhanced comfort, ventilation holes reduce trapped heat and provide cooling air circulation.

This adjustable protective headgear will protect individuals following post-operative craniectomy or craniotomy, for skull anomalies, cranial vault reconstruction or other cranial surgery, seizure disorders, instability secondary to poor balance or disequilibrium reactions, and individuals with self-injurious behaviors related to hair pulling and headbanging. The A-Flex Plus should not be used with individuals at high risk for facial injuries and those who require high-impact protection.

The included chin straps are recommended for people who are active and noncompliant. The posterior strap is designed to lock the headgear below the occiput and mastoids and will accommodate size variations. The lateral strap is designed for easy donning and doffing, allowing a caregiver easy access to the patient's head. Ventilation holes throughout the headgear will enhance user comfort with air circulation, releasing trapped heat. While the A-Flex Plus can be easily sized to fit an individual's head, it can be further customized, not with complex equipment or tools but by simply trimming the excess with a pair of heavy-duty scissors.
