Adjustable Front Wheelchair Anti-Tippers work well for wheelchair users who exert excessive forward leaning force causing the chair to tilt forward while seated in, standing, or sitting into a wheelchair. The Anti-Tippers can be adjusted so that they make contact with the floor when the wheelchair is tilted slightly forward, discouraging the wheelchair from tilting further and tilting over.
The mounting brackets are chrome plated and made with 10 gauge steel, and the legs are made with heavy duty chrome plated tubular steel. There are 5 possible positions that can be adjusted for wheel height. The wheels measure 2" in diameter by 1" in width and are made with plastic. The hardware is Grade 5.
Mounting Requirements and Adjustments
The Adjustable Front Wheelchair Anti-Tippers can be mounted to up to 1" round tubing that is located on the lower horizontal frame tubing directly behind the front casters. A minimum horizontal frame ground clearance at the mounting location is 8" but can reach a maximum of 12".
Caring for the Adjustable Front Wheelchair Anti-Tippers
Check the mounting and adjusting hardware for tightness periodically. There are no special cleaning instructions.
The Adjustable Front Wheelchair Anti-Tippers are not recommended wheelchairs on which the bottom horizontal frame tube is larger than 1".
The Adjustable Front Wheelchair Anti-Tippers may not prevent the wheelchair occupant from leaning forward enough to fall from the wheelchair.
