Definition: Hoyer Lifts Slings, also known as patient lift slings or lifting slings are designed to be suspended from and attached to the patient lift boom and swivel bar of a Hoyer Lift or Patient Lift. The Hoyer brand, owned by Joerns, makes a variety of slings. Invacare, Drive Medical, Romedic and Molift also manufacture slings. Lift slings are made from a range of materials including polyester, cotton, and rayon. They have extremely strong stitching which allows them to safely accommodate patients who will be suspended in the air and transferred from one location to another. Slings are typically used to transfer patients from a bed, wheelchair, the floor, or from a seated position to another surface. Lift slings are designed with simple loops which attach to various types of patient lifts. Both mesh and tightly woven fabric options are available. Be sure to carefully examine the model of your lift to confirm that you have selected a lift sling that is compatible with your specific Hoyer / Patient Lift model. Many of our slings are offered in multiple sizes to accommodate a range of patient weight and sizes. Related products can be found at Patient Lift Sling, Hoyer Lifts, and Patient Lifts.
