The Hope Car Bed allows for five different methods of restraint: in the restraint bag with cummerbund or with the three-point harness and cummerbund, and in supine position, prone position, or on the right side. The recommended position for safety is supine. Prone or side positions should be used only when medically necessary.
The Hope Car Bed should only be installed in the rear passenger seat of the car with the child's head facing the center of the vehicle. Two seat belts should be used to install the car bed. Whether you use the restraint bag or the three-point harness, the cummerbund should always be used. The harness and restraint bag are not meant for simultaneous use. A leveling wedge is available to keep the car bed level so the child is not lying tilted at an angle.
The Hope Car Bed can accommodate children up to 29" without bending the knees, or slightly taller children with the knees bent.
