Because much of human life is experiential, we rely on our senses to make "sense"½ of the world around us. Unfortunately, for many people, adequately receiving and processing sensory information can be impaired by a number of cognitive, physical, and learning barriers. Over the years, therapists and other researchers have developed various types of sensory devices made to provide users with access to sensory stimulants without overburdening them or subjecting them to patterned signals. Quite often these devices focus on one or two senses. TFH's Vecta Delight Mobile Sensory Station, however, is designed to give therapists an all-in-one tool that can be easily transported from one location to another. The SNAP Projector comes with 3 wheels: space, whales/sealife, and sunrise clouds.
Constructed with marine MDF material, four smooth casters, and a rear storage cavity, the Vecta Delight boasts a sturdy, durable, and convenient architecture that comes equipped with a number of sensory devices:
Waterless Bubble Column: Produces a continuous flow of lighted bubbles that travel upward from the base of the column. When the lights are dimmed or turned off, these dancing bubbles produce a mesmerizing visual effect. Their hues can be changed by the
Bubble Column Color Controller while the
Ball Switch, a tactile device, allows users to interrupt the flow of the bubbles.
Fiber Optic Tails: Visual and tactile stimulation are provided by a beautiful array of colorful, sparkling fiber optic threads. They can be picked up, combed, and twisted.
Solar Projector: Displays both abstract and detailed images onto the walls, floors, and curtains.
Diffuser: Provides input for the olfactory system in the form of aromatherapy. Scents include tangerine, lavender, and rosemary.
Stereo: Capable of handling both CDs and MP3s, the integrated stereo unit allows therapists to provide patients with a soothing stream of audiotherapy.
