Product Overview:

The TherAdapt Posture Chair is especially recommended for children with tight hamstring muscles or contractions of the ankle and foot. It positions the child in a stable, semi-kneeling position, and positions the pelvis and lower extremities in such a way as to inhibit lower extremity extension, help the child achieve an erect trunk, and free the upper extremities for function. The TherAdapt Posture Chair does not increase tightening of the hamstring muscles but eliminates their devastating effect on the pelvis in sitting.

    More Information

Each TherAdapt Posture Chair has a ten-degree anterior-angled seat with slip-resistant upholstery, an adjustable pelvic strap, and a lumbosacral support that can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally. The seat can be adjusted to three different heights to best fit the needs of the user.

The knee pads can be adjusted in all three planes of movement for exact placement selection. The foot straps have hook and loop closures and are slipped through a D-ring; rotate the straps 90 degrees and use them over the calf in the case of users with strong foot reflexes or significant foot deformities.

The TherAdapt Posture Chair also has front-mounted casters for easy transport, but should only be moved if no one is in the chair. The TherAdapt Posture Chair is not designed for users with a limited hip range of motion, a history of hip dislocations, or a fixed thoracic kyphosis or scoliosis.

Before use, it should be evaluated by a licensed therapist and the user should be monitored for fatigue secondary to the dynamic nature of the chair.
