Thera-Band Professional Resistance Bands are backed by years of research proving that they are an effective and safe alternative to hand and machine weights for strength training, rehabilitation, flexibility, and range-of-motion. This is accomplished by offering a safe way to provide just the right amount of both positive and negative resistance force to a specific muscle or muscle group.
Used by physical therapists, healthcare professionals, athletic trainers, and individuals at home, the bands can be customized for a specific workout or rehab exercise by simply adding resistance levels to the exercise/therapy routine. The color coded bands are separated in several levels of resistance difficulty.
The tan, yellow, and red bands are for a beginner who needs therapy after an injury or surgery and their muscle(s) need to be slowly rebuilt and toned. These bands are also great to use with the elderly to help maintain or enhance their range-or-motion and muscle tone.
The green, blue, and black bands represent the intermediate resistance levels that are great for an everyday fitness routine and overall muscle toning. They are used best when starting off with the lower resistance level while increasing the number of reps. To build up more strength, simply move up to the next level and use less reps during the workout.
The silver and gold resistance bands are the elite-level strength and exercise training bands that provide the highest level of resistance. For a more difficult training experience, double up on the resistance bands to create twice the resistance.
The 5 1/2-inch wide bands do contain natural rubber latex and come in rolls that have lengths of 6-yards, 25-yards, 50-yards, and 100-yards.
