A Pediatric By Myself Physical Therapy System helps children improve motor development skills by moving independently through a range of activities. Some of the activities include ladders, parallel bars, poles, and chairs. A therapy system can be utilized in schools, physical therapy facilities, and homes.
Rehabmart is proud to offer an innovative pediatric physical therapy system from our esteemed vendor, R.E.A.L. Design.
Who is R.E.A.L. Design?
Rehab and Educational Aids for Living (R.E.A.L. Design) is a company which makes products for children with disabilities. They work directly with parents, therapists, and other caregivers to understand the needs of children firsthand. They strive to make their products functional and well-constructed, as well as inviting to use and fun to interact with. With bright colors, playful shapes, and rounded contours, the products are fun to operate and to have around. Children without disabilities also enjoy engaging with these therapy exercises alongside those with disabilities, which promotes social interaction and inclusion.
What is the By Myself Therapy System?
The By Myself Therapy System helps develop a child’s motor skills that increase the ability for independent movement. Through movement, children can interact with, explore, and learn about the world around them. Therapists who work in physical therapy facilities, schools, and homes can utilize this equipment to assist a child in developing independence more quickly. The playful quality of the colorful and durable components encourages a child to learn skills, such as transition from sit to stand, balance and coordination, and walking. These components include ladders, parallel bars, poles, a walk-on base, and a chair.
The Rise and Shine Ladder helps teach children how to pull themselves into an upright position better by using its rungs. It requires the Walk-On Base for support, and can be utilized with or without the Lift-Off Chair as part of the therapy system. The ladder increases a child’s sense of security while learning to stand, and is made from sturdy tubular steel. An optional acrylic mirror is available as an accessory.
The ABMS Parallel Bars help teach a child with mobility issues how to bear weight on the legs better. It also enables the lower limbs to stretch and the hips to relax which leads to improved walking and balancing skills. The bars are used as assistance for a child who is developing walking skills, and they’re adjustable in height and width. The bars require the Walk-On Base for sturdiness and support by locking them onto the base at various widths.
The Trekie Poles are lightweight, with foam grip handles and disk bases which a child with motor difficulties can work. A set of poles help teach better walking and balancing skills to a child who is ready to take steps. They can be fastened to the Walk-On Base at different widths to assist in learning how to properly stand, or can be operated independently.
The Walk-On Base features a soft, nonslip walking surface and can be used with other components of the Therapy System. Multiple fastening points can be joined with the Parallel Bars, Trekie Poles, and the Rise and Shine Ladder by locking them into place.
The Lift-Off Chair teaches a child with motor difficulties how to transition from sitting to standing and how to sit properly and safely. Each chair is made with high and low removable support panels at the back, and constructed from durable hardwood with a blue non-toxic finish. The padded adjustable seat is wide enough to provide a stable base of support for a child who is learning sitting skills, and can also be tilted if necessary.
