More Information

The Galvanic Skin Response Unit is a small, self-contained device that measures stress levels by detecting minute changes in body temperature and muscle tension in the fingers. Though it sounds bizarre, stress has been linked to reduced blood flow in the hands, making them slightly cooler than the rest of the body.

The unit has ergonomically designed grooves where users lightly rest two of their fingers. The GSR unit provides both audio and visual biofeedback; the meter will visually represent the user™s stress levels, while the unit will emit a tone whose pitch corresponds to the user™s stress levels. Users can keep their fingers on the unit and try to lower their stress levels, and if they succeed, will hear the pitch lower as their stress goes down. This makes the device a useful tool for learning how to dissipate physical stress.

Audio results can be channeled through personal headphones or earbuds, or projected from the unit itself. The unit comes with a relaxation CD to help users learn to lower their stress levels. Two remote electrodes are also provided and can be placed on the hands or feet for better results.

The compact size and self-contained system make this a conveniently portable device for stress management on the go.
