The Benefits of Teak Wood
The wood for the Mini Mat is taken from the heartwood of the Teak tree, which is the hardest wood and also produces a beautiful color and unique grain patterning. The heartwood also secretes an oil that keeps the wood shiny.
This oil also gives the Teak a natural resistance to water, which prevents mold, bacteria, and mildew growth and also helps protect against decay. Because of these qualities, the Mini Mat is the perfect addition to boats, showers, campers, near pools, and more.
Teak Mini Mat Information
The Mini Mat measures 11" long by 13" wide with eight slats spaced comfortably apart. High-quality materials like marine grade stainless steel screws and waterproof wood glue help to ensure the longevity of the mat. Given the natural qualities of Teak, the Mini Mat can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The Mini Mat will also fit inside a 15 quart Rubbermaid container for easy foot washing. Anti-bacterial rubber lining runs along the bottom of the Mini Mat to prevent it from sliding, adding additional safety.
Maintenance
Teak wood is easy to maintain but depending on the setting, it may need to be quickly washed occasionally do to soap or salt build-up. To do this, use water and a light soap mixture (if needed) and a soft bristled brush to lightly scrub. Rinse the Teak and allow it to air dry.
After a lot of use, it may be necessary to apply
Teak Oil to fully restore the beautiful shine.
