The Bariatric Sorrento by Seating Matters adapts the customizability and comfort they are known for to a larger chair suitable for heavier individuals. The Sorrento was designed to help reduce the risk of injury to individuals as well as caregivers when handling larger individuals. It comes full motorized to reduce the chance of injury to both the user and the handler when moving and figuring out the most comfortable arrangement.
Features Included:

Braking castors: Castors allow for the chair to be moved around throughout the facility or home. Additional brakes ensure that the chair does not roll when it is not necessary, as well as help with directional control during movement.
Back angle adjustment: To provide the most comfortable seating arrangement for the seated individual the chair features the ability to lean the seat back forwards or backward depending on the needs of the user. Back angle adjustments can be made via the hand control.
Tilt in space: The chair also features the ability to tilt in place to create an additional axis of support and comfort for the user. This can also be controlled with the hand control and occurs through electronic motorization in order to reduce the chance of injury of the user and caretaker.
Seat depth: Seat depth is manually adjusted with a set of thumbscrews and provide additional customization for individuals who need additional depth or a shallower seating position.
Arm removal: The chair features removable arms which are very convenient when moving the patient from the chair to another surface such as the bed sideways so that the individual can roll themselves over, or be helped. It is also convenient when pulling the chair up to a table or desk for mealtime or doing some activities.
Seat width adjustment: The width of the seat may be changed in order to fit larger individuals or to contour the chair better to the user. This is done by bringing the arms rests closer for a tighter fit or pulling them out further if more space is needed. When spread further than the cushion that comes with the chair, a wider cushion can be fitted into the chair.
Arm height adjustment: Arm height can be adjusted on the chair manually by sliding the armrest from the chair and reinserting it into the new height that is necessary. This provides additional lateral support and can also help fit the chair under a certain height of the desk, but not all.
Leg elevation: Leg elevation can be changed by raising or lowering the padded leg rest. This feature further increases the customizability and comfort of the chair.
Foot plate height: Footplate height can be altered to best fit the length of the user's legs.
Footplate angle: The angle of the footplate can be set to three different adjustments: 90, 105, and 125. The combination of the various leg adjustments ensures the attainment of the most comfortable position for the legs.
Negative angle leg rest: Perfect for individuals with tight hamstrings, the leg rest can be positioned at a negative angle below the seat.
Seat cushion: The Bariatric Sorrento features a pressure redistributing, waterproof breathable medium foam cushion that helps relieve and dull pain enacted by harsh pressure. It is coated with a grippy material that prevents accidental slippage.
Fully Motorized Hand Control: The Bariatric Sorrento is fully motorized and controls the tilt in space, leg rest, and back angle recline functions of the chair.

Drive Assist:
The Bariatric Sorrento features a Drive Assist that helps move the chair without putting in back-breaking effort. The Drive Assist comes in two modes: Continuous Drive Mode that allows the chair to be moved at full speed and should be used for moving the chair over longer distances. The Manoeuvring Mode operates at half the speed of the continuous drive mode and should be used when moving short distances and maneuvering within more confined spaces.
