The Atlanta Therapeutic Safety Chair by Seating Matters presents the very best in fall prevention for individuals who have difficulty sitting still. Originally designed for people with Huntington's disease, but can be used by all who have issues with accidentally falling from their chairs. By looking at the Atlanta, it is obvious that the chair has been designed with strength and stability in mind to comfortably and securely seat individuals. The variable angle leg rest that comes with the Atlanta successfully helps lower limb edema through its integrated tilt and recline which elevates the feet higher than the heart and allows for proper fluid drainage. People with tight hamstrings will be happy to know that the chair also features negative angle clearance underneath the seat which enables the feet to be pushed behind the knee without changing seating position.
Features Included:

Breaking Castors: Castors allow for the chair to be smoothly moved to a different location which helps effortlessly move the seated individual around the home. The castors feature breaks that enable the chair to be firmly planted in one spot and also helps with maintaining direction when moving the chair.
Tilt and Recline: This chair features a tilt and recline ability that helps individuals find the most comfortable position when seated in their chair. This is easily done by a caretaker or family member from the back of the chair, clenching the push handle, push or pull the chair to the desired angle, and then release the push handle to permanently set the new position.
Leg Rest: A unique feature of the Atlanta is its leg rest. The leg rest may be used in conjunction with the chair or set aside if not needed. It securely attaches to the chair with buckle attachments and helps with enhanced comfort and edema reduction.
Sliding Footplate: When the Leg Rest is not in use, or not available, but leg support is still necessary the chair also features a sliding footplate that pulls out from the bottom of the chair. Footplate should not be stood and should only be used as a resting place for the feet.
Seat cushion: The Atlanta boasts a waterproof, pressure reducing, breathable, medium foam cushion that provides pressure relief and comfort. The cushion is attached to the chair through Velcro fasteners.
