The Safe & Sound Fall Mat from SkiL-Care is a fall reduction mat that can be used in situations where bed rails cannot be used. It is made from a unique polyurethane foam material that ensures that when a fall occurs, the risk of injury is severely reduced. To correctly use the mat it must be placed right at the bedside or chairside of the at-risk individual. The mat features a beveled edge that allows wheelchairs, carts, and IV stands to come onto the mat when needed. A anti-slide bottom ensures that the mat remains planted in its set position to reduce the chance of additional injury when entering or departing the bed. Two variations of the mat are available: folding and non-folding. The folding version of the mat can conveniently be folded and stored away with an included tie-strap when not in use.
The mat can be easily cleaned with a spray or cloth thanks to its anti-bacterial, water-resistant PVC material, but should not be cleaned with bleach chemicals.
