The Rifton Medium HTS Hygiene and Toileting System doubles as a mobile shower chair, therefore, reducing the need for separate equipment for toileting and showering. Using a standard or elongated toilet is easy, and allows the use of the same toilet as the rest of the family. The mounting bars securely attach the chair to toilet base without the need of any tools. Lower stationary bases allow for optionally putting feet on the floor. The mobile base and the commode pan make the Hygiene and Toileting System usable anywhere.

The Tilt-In-Space model tilts up to fifteen degrees back; the backrest tilts up to eighteen degrees back and six degrees forward; the headrest is adjustable for comfort. Safety and comfort are essential for toileting support. The gas-assisted cylinder tilts up to fifteen degrees forward for easier transfers as well as fifteen degrees back for showering and hair washing. The seat and back are contour molded and cushioned with additional antimicrobial integral-skin foam pads. Accessories and straps that contact the skin are made with soft and easy to launder materials. The design of the HTS is easier to clean and disinfect with a simple ten percent bleach solution.

Configure the Hygiene and Toileting System for a wide range of needs and environments, even when traveling! Suitable for every stage of your child's growth, body type, and special need. The backrest is adjustable to assist with showering and hair washing. The system's tub stand accommodates narrow and wide tub bottoms. A lightweight portability base with the folding frame and carrying bag (for small and medium sizes) make traveling easier and more hygienic.

Easier lifts and transfers are made possible through a number of features. The footboard's flip-up capacity and forward-tilting seat make transitions from sit-to-stand more comfortable. Removable armrests and swing-away supports make lateral transfers simpler.

is the foot plate on rifton hygiene and toilet system able to be used for weight bearing transfers?

Answer: I was unsure about how to answer your question, so I reached out the vendor for more information. According to them:
"From the product Guide page 11:
Footboard When attached to the Base
To prevent falls, tipping or other injury:
- Do not exceed 150 pounds on the footboard.
- Do not stand on footboard while it is angled forward.
- Do not place maximum load at front edge of footboard.

It should not be used as a transfer when it is used with the Mounting Bar

To prevent falls or other injury:
- Ensure that the square metal tubing attaching the footboard to the seat rests on the front edge of the toilet.
- Do not stand on footboard for mounting bar attachment."

The same warnings apply for the Large model.

Does the MEDIUM HTS Hygiene and Toileting System come with cleaning instructions?

Answer: Yes! The cleaning instructions for this product are explained next:
- After each use, clean with disinfectant wipes or a solution of up to 10% bleach.
- The straps with hook and loop closures may be laundered. Engage the closures before washing. Do not iron.
- The Polyurethane pads are easy to remove to allow cleaning and drying underneath. They can be wiped clean with soapy water or a mild disinfectant.
