The Resistance Tunnel with Fitball is a physical therapy tool to help the user to determine his body's position in space through body receptors located in the user's muscles, joints, and tendons. Information from the user's receptors when pushing a Fitball through the soft, springy fabric tunnel will help him to gauge where his various body parts are in relation to each other and how much pressure he feels from the surrounding tunnel environment.

The 15-foot long tunnel is 20" diameter size of easily expanding fabric that will provide the user a soft yet noticeable proprioceptive pressure input every inch along the way and pushing the 22" Fitball will temporarily expand the tunnel and then gently close comfortably around the user. The action of pushing the ball will help increase gross motor planning skills as well as body awareness position.

The resistance tunnel is a fun way to encourage a child to play and help learn better social skills and learn through cooperative play. The soft resistive texture of the tunnel also can be employed as a "calming down" influence and space for a child who is overstimulated or on the autism spectrum to relax by providing a soft texture material and some comfortable close quarters.
