Features of Hi-Lo Adjustable Treatment Tables

Power adjustable treatment tables provide a soft, stable surface to support patients during treatment while allowing the clinician to effortlessly adjust the table to an ideal height for the therapy or exam. They can be found in almost any healthcare location including doctor’s offices, chiropractic centers, physical therapy and rehab facilities, hospitals and nursing homes. Power adjustable exam tables come equipped with a variety of features to provide the best experience for both the patient and the caregiver.

Height Adjustment
One of the most important features of a power adjustable exam table is height adjustment. Most tables will lower to a height of 17 inches, which is the ideal height to safely transfer a patient from a wheelchair to the exam table. In general, power adjustable treatment tables have a maximum height of 34 to 36 inches, which is usually the best height for a standing exam by a healthcare professional.

Hands-free Controls
Most power adjustable exam tables come equipped with foot controls to allow the caregiver to keep both hands free to support and treat the patient. Some tables have special bar-activated height controls that allow the clinician to keep both hands on the patient and both feet on the floor.

Section Mobility
Higher-end exam tables come equipped with separately adjustable foot and head sections to increase patient comfort while allowing maximum flexibility during a treatment or exam. Special contoured face openings are often provided for the comfort of prone patients. Some tables are equipped with a flexible, motorized middle section that rises to provide lumbar extension and flexion as well as postural traction and elevation.

Bariatric Models
Specially designed power adjustable exam tables are available for overweight or bariatric patients and will safely and comfortably support patients up to 500 lbs.
