More Information

Bailey Manufacturing's Parallel Bars with Steel Base are a must-have for any rehabilitation facility. They are a powerful tool in helping patients to learn how to walk again. Used to help those with a disability or injury, these parallel bars are a key piece of equipment for helping patients to regain independence.

Coordination exercises can be tailored to repeat concise movements that work multiple joints and muscles. This form of exercises helps those with brain injuries. Repeating the same exercise over helps train the patient and their body to perform specific tasks.

Patients can also practice walking using ambulation exercises on the Parallel Bars. In order to do this exercise safely, patients should be able to balance while standing. Shifting weight from one side to the other and forward and backwards helps improve balance. The physical therapist should stand in front of or behind the patient for safety and comfort. Using Parallel Bars provides a great starting point for progressing from a wheelchair to walking aids such as walkers, crutches and canes.
