Mouth Sticks/Tips/Sleeves are attached to a retainer-type bite plate that the user will wear in his mouth. The four different mouth sticks allow the user to perform and complete various functions independently and without any assistance from a caregiver.
The mouth sticks are used to help people with communication, work, or to display their artistic ability. These lightweight, latex free mouth sticks are available in four options.
The wand mouth stick with bend adapter is latex free and will bend to a desired angle that will provide the easiest way to perform a specific task or function. This stick has a thermoplastic rubber bumper at the distal end of the stick, and the shaft is made of anodized aluminum. The thermoplastic end can be heated with a heat gun and bent to any angle and can also be reheated numerous times to provide different angles for different tasks. This mouth stick also includes an extra pair of protective thermoplastic rubber sleeves for the bite plate. This mouth stick is available in 14-inch or 16-inch lengths.
The 14-inch long vertical pincher mouth stick may contain latex rubber and has a tongue-controlled pincher at the distal end. The pincher is used to grab and insert paper into a printer or typewriter, or to pick up and turn over paper or other light objects. The user will use their tongue to push a rubber-band tension plunger to operate the pincer movement. To lift heavier objects, the user can adjust the pincher tension by replacing the rubber band.
Mouth stick tips are sold separately in a 6 pack, and mouth stick sleeves are available in a 4-pack.
