Use the Moisture Barrier Skin Ointment to protect yourself or your patients from topical skin irritations caused by incontinence. The petrolatum used in the moisturizing gel offers one of the strongest ways to protect the skin from these irritations. It is also beneficial in reducing the risk of maceration. The McKesson ointment is also CHG-compatible. The dimethicone used in the product provides irritated skin with needed hydration. This ingredient is also what makes the barrier skin gel so easy to apply and remove. Other active ingredients that are beneficial for repairing irritated skin are vitamins A, D, and E. The clear barrier is designed to be applied to different types of irritated skin. The CMC used allows the Moisture Barrier Skin Ointment to adhere to eroded, intact, weepy, or wet skin. This makes it helpful in treating a range of uncomfortable skin irritations like diaper rash, scrapes, or burns. The hypoallergenic product is safe and gentle for patients of any age, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Not only does it treat the side effects of incontinence, but it is also helpful in treating diaper rash in children. It is not meant to be used on deep lacerations or puncture wounds. The irritated area should be cleaned and dried before applying the barrier gel. Once the ointment has been applied, it will seal out any wetness.
The individual bottles of this barrier skin ointment come in two different sizes: two ounces, and 6 ounces. Both sizes come in boxes with 12 bottles.
