More Information

The Smiths Medical Medfusion 3500 Syringe Pump is a medical tool used to deliver controlled and precise quantities of fluids such as medication, nutrients, and blood to a patient.

The Medfusion 3500 Syringe Pump has been the syringe platform technological leader for 15 years with its unique innovations with syringes recognition, drug library knowledge, and precise dose limits.

The ParmGrard medication safety software does it all by encouraging simultaneous programmable soft and hard limits for does, weight, rate, time, and all modes of dose delivery such as continuous, bolus, and beginning loading doses. The medical clinician will be alerted when any limits are exceeded, and he will be provided an electronic record of the event that is also compiled in the PharmGuard's state-of-the-art reports.

Added safety features include FlowSentry which is a comprehensive array of pressure-related safety features for rapid occlusion detection providing a rapid alarm response time of less than 5 minutes at 1.0ml/hr with a 60cc syringe, as well as help reduce false alarms.

The DlowSentry system includes a descriptive graphic display of a pressure trend that will allow an advanced opportunity for clinical intervention. Also, included is a post-occlusion bolus reduction feature that will decrease post-occlusion bolus to less than 0.3ml.

All of this information is completed without the use of exterior and expensive dedicated disposable sets.

The easy-to-use syringe pump offers an ergonomic horizontal design that protects the entire syringe barrel allowing the staff to perform a quick and easy single-handed loading of any size syringe. A unique and helpful rotating IV pole mounted clamp is included to allow the pump to be in the most optimal viewing and working orientation for the staff and a large, bright viewing screen with adjustable backlighting will help complement an intuitive hardware interface.

The 3500 syringe pump can also efficiently and effectively transmit information throughout the medical facility and at the patients bedside by importing and exporting data as an integrated part of any facility patient data management system. The included user-defined delivery libraries of the pump include four libraries with sixteen profiles for each library, and one library is "E-Plates" to provide optional rapid setup.

By using an available communication accessory, the pump will communicate within multiple modes that also include IR and RSs232 modes and these protocols can be customized and adapted to better interface with the environment at the time.

Soon to come upgrades to the current Medfusion platform will help address a medical facility's desire to integrate barcoding (network-based and on-board) in both wired and wireless networks.

The pump has a 100 to 240 VAC power source and an internal rechargeable battery with a 10 hour capacity at 5.0 ml/hr with a 60m syringe, and it may be used within MRI rooms with static magnetic fields up to 150 gauss.
