What is Dry Hydrotherapy Massage?
Dry Hydrotherapy Massage combines the therapeutic benefits of pressurized water, heat, and flotation without having to go through the hassle of having to get wet. Incorporating these benefits, the Massage Time Pro S10 Half Body Hydrotherapy Table for Professionals is constructed with a water bladder that holds 21 gallons of water. The person receiving the massage will position themselves over the waterproof barrier, while pulsating jets release streams of pressurized heated water. This movement delivers a highly effective massage, which relieves pain while increasing circulation and range of motion. Dry hydrotherapy massage, commonly referred to as hydromassage, aquamassage, or water massage, combines the positive effects of hydrotherapy massage, acupressure, thermotherapy, soft tissue manipulation, and trigger point therapy in one unique and effective table.
Dry Hydrotherapy Massage focuses on the muscular system, the fascia, the circulatory and lymphatic systems, or a combination of all 3 body systems. The fascia is the connective tissue that attaches organs to organs, muscles to bones (tendons), and bones to bones (ligaments). The lymphatic system encourages the flushing of lymph, a clear or yellowish substance. When lymph is flushed through the body, foreign matter is filtered out and excess fluid, protein, and waste products are transported from the tissues to the blood and circulated for elimination. Without the ability for lymph to be flushed out of the body, the muscle becomes tight. Like a sponge that is squeezed, a tight muscle can not hold much fluid. Tightness in the muscle decreases circulation and increases the strain placed on the heart, leaving you feeling fatigued and sore. Dry Hydrotherapy massage encourages the blood to circulate, and the body to run better.
Safe for nearly everyone, the dry hydrotherapy massage table provides a warm water massage that treats soft tissue injuries and other conditions such as orthopedic, rheumatic, and neurological disorders. Adding this powerful treatment to your menu of services results in a supremely effective massage that relaxes tight muscles just as effectively as a professional hands-on massage, with less time and labor spent.
Why Add Dry Hydrotherapy Massage to your Menu of Services
- Easier Treatment of Hard to Adjust Patients: Pre-adjustment hydromassage treatment reduces nervous tension and muscle guarding. Pre-treating with dry hydrotherapy massage results in easier, less painful, and more complete spinal adjustments. Patients are easier to work with when their body is relaxed.
- Use Post-Adjustment to Help Relax the Muscles: Used after adjustments, hydrotherapy massage relaxes muscles and allows the adjustment to stabilize while reducing the tendency of the muscles to spasm and pull the spine out of alignment
- Use Before and After Decompression Therapy: Hydrotherapy massage before decompression therapy relaxes the muscles and helps reduce the negative effects of muscle guarding so the decompression forces can be as effective as possible. Dry hydrotherapy massage reduces the pain associated with decompression and relaxes the client.
- Eliminates the Need to Hire a Massage Therapist: The S10 dry hydrotherapy massage table works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no time off needed and costs only pennies per session.
- Enhances Exercise and Strengthening Programs: The body functions better when the muscles are relaxed and blood and lymph fluids flow well. Used after rehab and exercise, a dry hydrotherapy massage session soothes the muscles and calms the nervous system.
- Encourages word of mouth referrals

Heated Massage
The Pro S10 features a powerful, premium quality spa pump that sends water through three pulsating jets spinning at approximately 200 revolutions per minute. The hydrotherapy massage incorporates heat that dilates blood vessels, speeds healing, and relaxes spasming muscles. Combining heat with massage, the table expertly kneads and heats the spine, while soothing away aches and pains in the entire body. The massage pressure can be adjusted from 12 to 17 lbs., while the water temperature can be adjusted from 70 to 107 degrees F. A thermostat automatically regulates the temperature when the table is plugged in. Most practitioners keep the table at 103 degrees F, but if the temperature ever needs to be adjusted, simply remove the seat cushion, make the adjustment, then put the seat cushion back on.
Flotation
Since the body floats on the Pro S10's 21 gallon water bladder, the user will benefit from the feeling of zero-gravity. Particularly helpful for those experiencing joint and muscle pain, endorphins are released, while the body naturally places itself in a calming meditative state.
Benefits Nearly Every Part of the Body
The Pro S10 can treat nearly every body part, by simply changing position on the table. See the table below for examples of Standard, Lower Back, Neck and Shoulder, Prone, and Leg positions.
Control the Massage Pressure
You can create a customized massage by adjusting the massage intensity, ranging from 12 lbs. to 17 lbs. in pressure. This adjustment ability allows the massage to move in a gentle, soothing way to a powerful and invigorating way. Simply adjust the control located on the front of the table to change the massage motion.
Control the Treatment Time
The length of treatment can be set with the timer located on the front of the table. Treatment times of 3 to 30 minutes in length are available, and the dry hydrotherapy massage table automatically turn off when the time has run out. Most treatments last from 10 to 15 minutes. Choose the length of treatment depending on the level of spasticity and tension within the muscles, the level of pain the client is experiencing, how sensitive your client's muscles are, and client preferences.
Control the Water Temperature
An electric thermostat controls the water temperature, with a range of 70 to 107 degrees F. Although the water temperature can be adjusted, you will more than likely keep it on the same temperature continuously. Most users keep the temperature from 100 - 107 degrees F. If you decide to change the temperature, the thermostat is located under the seat cushion. Simply turn the dial to the desired temperature.
Easy Assembly
The Pro S10 is easy to assemble. Detailed instructions are included with the table that provide guidance through written directions and pictures. Sidmar's top notch customer service can also guide you through the assembly process if needed.
Low Operation Cost
The Pro S10 plugs into an electrical wall outlet and remains plugged in to keep the water heated for the next use. Turning on and off automatically, the heater draws the same power as a 150 watt light bulb. The massage function runs of 13 amps of power, which is about 1500 watts. If you pay .08 cents per kilowatt hour, that means it costs .12 cents for every hour the table is running. A typical 15 minute session would only cost .03 cents.
Easy Maintenance
The Pro S10 requires very little maintenance. Water that evaporates over time will need to be replaced periodically. A water conditioner named Clare Lube will need to be added to the water bladder every 4 months. This algaecide and antifoam lubricant solution fights bacteria and reduces particle build-up inside the pump and jet system. The easy-clean wipeable cloth cover will need to be laundered as needed. As long as the table is properly maintained, the water should never need to be drained. No technician is needed for servicing, due to the simple plug and play parts.
Quiet Operation
The table's water jet noise is muffled as it propels the water.
Helps Manage Patient Flow
The hydrotherapy massage table can be used to manage busy periods during the day. For instance, if you have an appointment running overtime and into another client's treatment time, you can have the client wait on the Hydrotherapy Massage Table, which will deliver power soft-tissue treatment while you get back on schedule. Adding a Massage Time Pro S10 Half Body Hydrotherapy Table to your clinic, spa, or gym creates a unique experience that relaxes and relieves pain. A hydrotherapy session will immediately improve your client's day, both physically and mentally.
Billing Hydromassage for Healthcare Professionals
Since there is no code in CPT that specifies the services provided by hydrotherapy tables, and since the procedure performed by the device are identified as physical therapy modalities, the most appropriate code to use would be code 97039. A report should be included with the use of the code to identify the specifics involved in performing the service. Since proper coding and billing falls under your responsibility as a licensed professional, it is advisable to seek the opinion of your state association, the AMA, a coding professional or the insurance company prior to billing. Also, since codes and/or their descriptions can change, it is important to review them periodically, usually every year.
You can also ask the insurance company what code to use prior to billing. After reviewing the codes in your CPT coding manual, just call each company and ask them what code they want to use. You can use the explanation of dry hydrotherapy to help you explain the table and therapy.
Pro S10 Warranty
A one-year factory parts warranty is included with the S10. If the parts stop working during this time, Sidmar will fix or replace the defective parts free of charge.
