The Leg Elevating Splints in 4" and 8" Heights are designed for users either lying in a supine position or seated in a chair to rest their leg at a gradually elevated height to mitigate lower extremity edema and discomfort.
The user will place the injured leg onto the latex-free foam elevation wedge, leaving the end of the leg, or foot, at the high end of the wedge. This is done to help reduce swelling in the legs and feet, for infection control precautions, and for medication application on the leg.
The elevation splint comes in a choice of two heights which include a 4 inch height to use when the patient is lying supine in bed, and an 8 inch height to rest the leg when sitting up in a chair or wheelchair.
The leg elevator is flame-retardant and wipes clean with a mild soap or non-abrasive disinfectant for continued, superior sanitation. The leg elevating splint is available with or without a vinyl coating.
