Kerri Bear Maternity Bassinet

The Kerri Bear Maternity Bassinet boasts of antimicrobial features that prevent the transmission of potentially dangerous or fatal micro-organisms, which is crucial in a sensitive setting like a maternity ward. There are multiple components that can be added to the Kerri Bear Maternity Bassinet that set it apart from other bassinets as a top-of-the-line solution for hospitals.

Base Cabinet
The cabinet below the actual bassinet provides a storage area for necessary supplies to maintain an infant's happiness and comfort. It's designed for ease of use, due to the location and space available. The doors are kept shut via magnetic catches, which securely keep the doors in place and eliminate potential issues such as linens snagging on latches or metal protrusions. Also, due to the powder coating, which is also found on the base cabinet, this area of the bassinet maintains the hygienic and health features. Neither wood nor laminate materials have been used in the manufacturing of this base cabinet, which is incredibly beneficial as these components can sometimes trap debris and degrade with the use of harsher chemicals.

Note: Chemical disinfecting agents can often results in damage to wood and cause laminate surfaces to lose adhesive properties. The Imperial Surgical powder coat is incredibly durable. However, it is important to verify that the chemical cleaner in use is compatible with the bassinet. It is recommended you review the instructions on the cleaner to ensure you are performing the proper application to maintain the effectiveness of the cleaner and bassinet. It is the user's responsibility to make sure you comply with these instructions.

Basket
One of the main components of the bassinet is the upper basket. Both the frame and carrier of the bassinet are completely welded and painted with the antibacterial powder coating, which is polyester and anti-bacterial. Under the the basket, a changing table can be easily accessed with a knob, which is located under the rim of the upper frame. The basket simply slides back and out of the way for full access to make changes quick and easy. As previously mentioned, three positions can be achieved with this bassinet's basket: Neutral, Trendelenburg, and Reverse Trendelenburg.

Mattress
Comfort is a crucial part of an infant's first few hours of life in a maternity ward, which is why the Kerri Bear Bassinet is available with two mattresses: one for the basket and one for the changing table. Both mattresses are constructed with medium density foam, which is also anti-bacterial. Not only does it have the anti-bacterial qualities, but it's also fire-retardant, to meet safety standards. These safety and health benefits do not detract from the high-quality comfort provided to the infant. An additional safety feature includes a guard rail that is three sided. This feature is significant because it secures the mattress and prevents it from sliding and moving around while a care provider is tending to the infant.

Casters
While seemingly small, casters play a significant role in the functionality of the bassinet. They are heavy-duty and have a 3 inch diameter (76mm). Additional design qualities include non-marking rubber and grey appearance. Two of the casters are swivel and the other two have wheel locks, which makes the bassinet easy to maneuver and secure given then situation.
