Its easy as a child to be overwhelmed by the world around you. Everything from classrooms, to clinics, to daycares are all full of noises and activity that many children, especially neurodivergent ones, find to be overstimulating. When the space around them becomes too much, the Jonti-Craft Hideaway Cube gives them a place to get away and relax without them having to go much of anywhere.
The Standard
Hideaway Cube is open on three sides to give children multiple entrances and views out to avoid claustrophobia, while letting adults look in from any angle. The solid side and top provide the isolation that children sometimes crave, and the thick material dampens some noise inside.
Meanwhile, the
Reflecting Cube is open to only two sides, forming something like a tunnel. Inside each solid wall is covered by a polished acrylic mirror, giving the space an interesting vibe. These mirrors are made to be more than ten times stronger than glass, and if scratched can be repaired with a quick application of acrylic polish. This makes the unique space perfect for kids to get in and out of without a worry for wear and tear, while letting them sit alone with themselves... a few of themselves, actually.
Both cubes are made from a pressed Birch Plywood and the exposed wood look fits almost anywhere. Just to be sure the Hideaway Cube is a worry-free nook its sanded and sealed and all the corners are rounded, while the wide cube shape helps prevent tips and unwanted movement to make it as safe as can be.
One cube could be a wonderful addition to any room, or multiple could be clustered together to make one little corner of calm in a space. The possibilities are endless with this simple, but effective design, and any kid in need of some alone time is sure to love it.
