The Jay J2 Plus Back is designed to promote thoracic extension of the patient's back. It is constructed with a 15 degree adjustment range for additional comfort. The Jay J2 Plus Back is equipped with both straight and 8 degree back posts to provide a 12 degree posterior tilt and a 3 degree anterior tilt. Each individual angle is set and locked with a simple locating pin. No tools are required to set the Jay J2 Plus Back.

This wheelchair cushion is equipped with a friction-locking vanity flap that allows for the patients excess posterior tissue to expand behind the seat. This helps the patient and the cushion to maintain an even contact along the patient's spinal column. The hinges for the vanity-flap are initially loosened so that the angle can be adjusted and then tightened to provide the necessary amount of support to the patient.

This wheelchair cushion is equipped with special adjustable hardware that accommodates 7/8in to 1 1/4in back post tubing. The Jay J2 Plus Back is one of the most flexible cushions that is available with an angle range of 12-posterior to 3-anterior tilts.

The back side of the foam base is equipped with a sewn-in pocket to hold three pelvic positioning inserts so that the patient's pelvic bone remains properly aligned. These inserts can be accessed from above through a zippered slot. Two end inserts are able to be extended through side slots to allow for additional growth.

It is important for bariatric patients to make sure that the back cushion is not prone to sliding off of the shell. The Jay J2 Plus Back is constructed with special Velcro attachment flaps on the bottom and top of the cover. These Velcro flaps are designed to fold over the shell and attach to the strips on the backside to ensure that the cover and cushion will stay in place. This wheelchair cushion will also accommodate folding bariatric wheelchairs. It is designed and constructed to be easily removed by simply pulling out the positioning pins, rotating the back forward, and lifting up on it.

Product Highlights:

	Adjustable Back Width Bariatric patients often experience fluctuations in body width. To accommodate these changes, the Jay® J2 Plus Back incorporates adjustable sliding hardware. This, along with a movable growth plate that is used to contain excess tissue, provides up to 3 inches in width adjustment.
	Bi-angular Back Excess posterior tissue often tends to push bariatric patients away from the backrest. Anterior tissue pulls them forward and down. By providing a bi-angular back that angles away from the patients' PSIS, the Jay® J2 Plus Back maintains spinal contact and promotes thoracic extension without requiring a correction in seat depth.
	Custom Positioning Options Like many patients, bariatric patients often have special positioning requirements. The Jay® J2 Plus Back addresses these requirements with optional headrest-mounting hardware, fixed lateral pads, swing-away lateral pads, spinal fluid pads, and pelvic positioning inserts.
	Heat Reducing Design Excess weight often promotes the build-up of heat and moisture, both of which contribute to skin breakdown. To reduce this effect, the Jay® J2 Plus Back is designed to breathe. A combination of slots in the shell and a special spacer-fabric lining in the cover promote the movement of air in and around the foam base. This keeps the back cool and dry.
