The Multi-Height Manual Adjustable Beds from Drive Medical use simple hand cranks at the foot of the bed to adjust the height, head, and foot levels. To ensure they don't present a tripping hazard when not in use, the cranks fold down out of the way quickly and easily. The greatest feature of these manually-adjustable beds is their ability to operate without electricity as it ensures patient care is never compromised - even in the event of a power outage or loss of power.
The adjustable height feature allows caregivers to raise or lower the bed surface to make transfers in and out of bed smoother and easier for both the caregiver and the patient. The bed can also be raised to grant caregivers more access to the patient at a more comfortable working height for everything from applying topical medication to changing clothes.
The head and foot adjustability can also be used to ease transitions and grant caregivers greater access for a variety of treatments and activities, and they are also ideal for providing more ergonomic posturing for the patient to facilitate more comfortable and more secure rest. The optional half- and full-length rails on either side keep the patient securely inside the bed, helping prevent accidental falls.
The optional mattresses include an innerspring mattress, or therapeutic support mattress, both of which are designed to provide the patient with a supportive yet forgiving surface that facilitates comfortable ergonomic support all night long. Zinc-coated springs throughout the bed deck are flexible enough to accommodate the individual patients contours without sinking unreasonably or uncomfortably, and can support up to 350 pounds. Both polyethylene molded bed end covers are as attractive as they are durable, and the smooth surface is easy to wipe down for hassle-free cleaning.
