More Information

Boasting a clear and undistorted maximum volume level of 125 dB, the Cardionics Hearing Impaired Model E-Scope II provides medical professionals with hearing disabilities an excellent stethoscope for diagnostic applications.

With 64 possible audio gain positions, clinicians can find the exacting volume specifications they require for listening to breath, bowel, heart and Korotkoff sounds to properly diagnose their patients. Concentration on a specific frequency range, such as 50-2000Hz for breath sounds and 45-900Hz for heart sounds, is easily attained with the frequency filter control switch.

For further ease of use, all of the control functions are placed on the head of the slim-line designed E-Scope II. Operating on just one included AAA battery, the stethoscope will automatically turn itself off after two minutes of inactivity to save power.

The included specialist adult diaphragm is constructed of durable stainless steel, and highlights a more comfortable palpation, 50% greater sound sensitivity, and enables the clinician to employ the split-finger technique. A pediatric diaphragm is included for younger patients; it also comes with infant, pediatric and adult bells, and mushroom-style ear tips.

Although the Hearing Impaired E-Scope II is especially well-suited for use with ITE (In The Ear) hearing aids, successful applications have also been reported with BTE (Behind The Ear) hearing aids, and CIC (Cochlear Implants). Because the scope's headphones fit over the top of the ear molds, this typically will not interfere with most hearing aids. It is recommended to consult with your audiologist to properly determine if the E-Scope II is a good choice for you. BTE hearing aids will definitely need to be professionally adjusted for use with this stethoscope.

Aside from its popularity with medical professionals who are hearing-impaired, this electronically amplified stethoscope is often utilized in loud environments by paramedics in ambulances and medical helicopters, as it helps eliminate background and extraneous noise so efficiently.

A USB-style output jack is conveniently added for accessories, such as an extra pair of headphones for a second listener, or for connecting to a PDA or PC for recording, playback and display purposes for telemedicine and electronic medical records.
